GENE SIMMONS Earns $500,000 For Charity On 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?'
November 8, 2008KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons was a guest on last night's (Friday, November 7) all-new episode of Fox's "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" As his popular family looked on, Gene rocked the test and spirited fans cheered him on this atypical game show that tests adults' lack of knowledge as revealed by how much they've forgotten since elementary school.
Simmons earned $500,000 for the Glazer Pediatrics AIDS Foundation but he declined on the $1,000,000 question that came from fifth-grade science. The question was, "What does the K represent on the Periodic Table of Elements?" If he would have answered the question, his answer would have been Krypton, which was incorrect. The correct answer was Potassium.
